Thailand in general is a mysterious place--and Bangkok certainly falls into that category. This is about as radically different a culture from ours as would be imagineable. Imagine New York City magnified many times --people, baffling, traffic, and that is not to mention the intensity of the weather. This is the land of heat and humidity! It is also the land of smiles! Just walking
down the crowded streets, almost everyone you make eye contact with will smile at you! This is amzing to me in this atmosphere of intense activity and hustle-bustle. The food is incredible. It is most always spicier than you think it is going to be so one has to watch out for that if your constitution can't handle heat and spice! Mine rebels against me every so often and has done that already during this stay--but I survived and am better for the experience and enjoyment of the tastes involved. I have a fabulous hotel here. I stayed here on my last trip to Bangkok and it is still as great as ever.It is a modern but yet traditional Thai atmopsphere. The service is flawless and my suite is grand. It is called the "Dusit Thani Hotel" and has been here a number of years having just gone through a renovation so that all is fresh and modern.
