A Typical Tai Chi Chuan Class . . . period always begins with everyone coming to class on time and lining up in straight rows, one student behind the other. A uniform is not required in this class. The instructor asks only that we wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothes and soft-soled shoes. Beginning students are first taught step-by-step, the 89 movements of the Yang Style Slow Set. It is important to practice the movements at home in order to continue your mastery of the Slow Set. Another part of the class period may be spent learning Push Hands, Tai Chi Gong, Family Set and/or the Fast Set. |
