We have one hardware set-up ready for our customers to review on their own. We have successfully used this hardware configuration extensively in building beginner boats locally and found it works well.
PARTS LIST
FOR LOW COST 25CC ENGINE PACKAGE: SUPPLIER: Wal-Mart: · Loc-Tite 242 · Water proof Epoxy · Dremal Tool: Basic Kit Plus 90 degree drill head with the drill bits(a lifesaver for drilling holes in tight places), flex cable is also a nice item to have but not mandatory · Batteries: If you can get them I have had real good use out of the re-chargeable Alkaline batteries but NIMH and NICD work ok. · Water Noodles: for flotation found in the pool section for kids Marine Specialties: www.marinespecialties-rc.com Place you first order with them by phone if possible that way they can go over the list with you.
AEROMARINE: www.aeromarinerc.com/ Bronze(B) is cheaper and easier to work with but if they are out you can order the Stainless Prop(SS). I have found the 245, 250 and 255 work pretty good
but you can experiment with the other sizes.
Local
Hobby Shop: I highly recommend going here they can help greatly in choosing radios and misc. parts. If going to a local shop is not possible www.towerhobbies.com and other online hobby sites are available. Let me know if you have a shop available to you. · 2-Channel radio Futaba is my brand of choice however a JR or HITEC are good radios $75-200 · ¼ scale servo this is a must for swinging that rudder on such a large craft $25-75 · pushrods 4-40 are the best to work with rust resistance if possible $5-10 · E/Z Link for pushrod attachment to servos $5-10
