GYPSY
FORTUNETELLER (mid-1980s) When I saw this scene I instantly knew it was a winner. Who could resist an infant having its palm read? It won first prize in the Faire's Photo Contest and was featured on the cover of their next year's brochure. Hard to believe that the baby is now close to graduating from high school! |

THE
EXETER MILL (1988) The first time I saw the windows of this structure ablaze with the setting sun, I made plans to come back again and again until I found the effect repeated. The old mill had been converted to apartments and I fell in love with it and stayed there for a year, even though it was over a one-and-a-half hour drive to work each day. I sold a number of copies of this image to the mill residents, as well as to the complex's owner and developer. |

THE
GIRLS WITH A TIGER CUB This is probably one of my daughters' most vivid memories from childhood, having the thrill of holding a live tiger cub in their arms, with its "mommy" lying just behind them. We'd driven out to videotape scenes of the Faire for my TV series, "Personal Perspectives". |

COKE
MACHINE (1999) I'd been aware of this icon for some time and thought about how it would look lit up at night, with the twilit sea behind it. So I waited around until nearly dark and took this shot. |

STREET
SINGER RUTHANNA (late 1970s) I've known RuthAnna for over a quarter century now, and for many years she was my favorite photographic subject. It was never difficult to capture her beauty, but I think this is one of the best portraits I ever did of her. |

SUNSET
AT SALEM HARBOR (1999) And it's not hard to get great pictures when one's "model" is the ocean at sunset, in fact it would be almost more difficult to take a bad photo. |
