I first participapated in the Landmark Forum many years ago. I have done
just about every course Landmark Education has to offer. My wife Sandy, was on paid staff with Landmark Education for
four and a half years. Today I am a successful Internet consultant. My
company designs web sites. I have been
married for 17 years and have 3 beautiful children. The reason I have participated with
Landmark Education for so long is because it works! We live lives we love! This
is the bottom line. There is
nothing else I have done that has made as big a difference as the Landmark Forum. I credit
my marriage and successful family life in large part to the Landmark Forum. Here is my top
3 list about the ways the Forum has made a difference in my family life.
I would have a completely different family or would
not be married at all if not for Landmark. I met my wife while assisting (volunteering) at
Landmark 18 years ago. We fell in love and got married two years later.
Everyone has little pet peeves or things about their
mate that can be annoying like leaving the toothpaste cap off or not putting the seat
down. In the past, I would literally make a list of these little things and they would
start to add up over time. Weeks or months later I would start to relate to my wife as the
accumulation of these little things instead of the person she is. Eventually I could even
forget why I was mad and wind up in an argument with my wife that could go on for days and
not even realize what had happened. I credit The Landmark Forum for allowing me to first
see what was happening and then let go of the little irritations that build up over time.
Instead of keeping a list and getting mad I can let these things go in the moment. I don't
think I would have had 16 happy years of marriage without The Landmark Forum
Picture this: It's the end of a long day at work. I
am tired and cranky. I just spent half the day on the phone with an irate client and
then fought rush hour traffic to make it home hoping to have a little peace and quiet.
When I get there I notice that my wife has invited the neighbors kids over, so instead of
3 children there are now 6 kids running around the house. They want to play with me. They
want to start jumping on Daddy's belly the instant I walk in the door. Before the Landmark
Forum I would have A) Shaken the kids off my legs and hibernated for the rest of the
evening. B) Turned around and walked out C) Made my wife and family wrong for the next 15
minutes. After the Landmark Forum Daddy A) Explains that he had a hard day and needs
10 minutes to change his clothes before they start jumping on his belly B) Sits down on
the couch and lets the kids start jumping on his belly right away C) Gives his wife and
kids a big hug and kiss so they get their Daddy is home, he is present, and he loves them
very much.
