Gary Memorial United Methodist Church
Reverend Luther Starnes, Minister
|
 |
Founded in 1879 to serve mill workers and residents of the
village, Gary Memorial has survived world wars, depressions, floods and the destruction of the mill and town. As such it stands
tall on Standfast hill as a symbol of God’s amazing grace. As a part of the family of God through out the world, we
express our commitment to our heavenly father by:
Embracing the historic richness of our house of worship and pledging together to ensure that it will
survive the changing tides of our future; remodeling our programs and services to serve each present age; providing prayer,
care and loving support for all of our members and friends in times of heartache, suffering and loss; taking notice of , and
rejoicing with, those members of the family in times of joy and accomplishment; proclaiming a gospel of the loving grace and
power of God for all who seek Him; reaching out beyond our walls to share the good news of God’s love to others; supporting
the work of the United Methodist Church through out the world by prayer and financial support; and by acknowledging, unselfishly,
that the work we do is God’s work and trusting Him in all that we try to do in His name.
