On Friday evening, October 7, 2005, Troop 1997 rallied at Bond's Landing on the upper Potomac River in Western
Maryland near Little Orleans, MD to pitch camp. The next morning we put 6 canoes and one kayak in the water upstream
at PawPaw, West Virginia for an all day trip down the river.
This turned out to be an absolutely awsome fall day to be on the river! Lunch was had on the WV shore. While some of
us fished for part of the time, not a single fish was to be seen on the end of a line - but no one minded a bit - it was that
nice of a day!
Dinner that night was followed by a good camp fire (following several attempts by fire-challenged scouts) and some great
story telling! This trip is an absolute blast and worth the effort for scouts and parents alike.
