| CZ Lawrence and his work |
In 1975, Lawrence created the beautiful window, seen to the right, for the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia.
This window is one of his many abstract works inspired by his years of association with painters and other
artists in the Greenwich Village section of New York City during the 50s and 60s. His wonderful body of work from
those years is complemented by an equal number of personal anecdotes that include many of the personalities of that place
in that time. His friendships with The Village's poets, radicals, politicians, painters, professors and workers
helped to distill a unique and exciting approach to the art form. Lawrence's works are both easily identifiable
yet different. The themes and compositions are varied, but the artist's singular style is always evident.
