Weddings
Your special occasion should reflect your values and intentions for your new life together.
I have discovered that most people want more than a civil ceremony at the courthouse to mark the beginning of their new
life together. They may not be sure what they believe about God or may not want religious terminology, but they do want to
frame their commitment in spiritual terms.
Sometimes, couples prefer a ceremony that looks traditional and others want less tradition. I will be happy to assist
you with the creation of a ceremony that is meaningful and special to you.
Upon confirmation that you want me to officiate at your wedding, I will send a packet which offers numerous selections
of vows, readings and additional ceremonies for you to choose from. I will create a ceremony from my basic wedding address,
adding your choices as they exist or you can make changes so that it speaks to your heart. If you have children, they can
be acknowledged as an important part of your new relationship as a family, with an optional, short ceremony, "Affirmation
of the New Family."
You will find an example of a Candle Lighting Ceremony by clicking the link above.
I
look forward to being part of your most special and spiritual day of acknowledging your love and commitment to one another.
"What greater thing is there for two souls than to feel that they are joined for life, to strengthen each other in all
labor, to rest on each other in all sorrow, to share all joy, to be one with each other in silent, unspeakable memories.";
(adapted from George Eliot).
