SERIGRAPH - according to Webster, is an "original
silk-screen print". Of course silk is rarely used anymore, so these
days we simply call it "Screen-printing". Now you may already
know that, but what you do not know is that
CWG/WM PRESS is in the business of producing limited edition, fine art serigraphs.
Not only is it our business, it is also our passion. We are artist's ourselves
and the majority of our work is in the form of serigraphs.
With a combined experience of over forty years in screenprinting, we take
pride and great care to produce a print that is faithful to the artist's
expectations. And whenever possible, we prefer to work closely with the
artist, instructing him or her in the craft of creating a consistent edition
of their original artwork.
The most important aspects of creating a successful edition with the artist
are the methods of separation and the mixing of colors. In working closely
with an artist, we prefer that whenever possible the artist create their
own separations for each color and provide us with their own unique palette
of colors. In doing so we feel we can more closely retain the artist's style.
However not all artist's are interested in being so involved in the printing
process and not all art is separated in the same manner. With that in mind
we have the availability of very talented separators and we employ a variety
of separation techniques depending on the original artwork. Be it an oil
painting, watercolor, or photograph, the end result remains constant: a
Limited Edition, Hand-Pulled, Fine Art Serigraph.
