Subject: Taft Band New Schedule
Late Breaking News for all Band members and Parents:
Here is the REVISED schedule for the band competition at Simi Valley High School on Saturday, Oct 4th.
10:00am Begin rehearsal at Taft H.S. (Be sure you have your uniform with you;
You will change into uniforms when we get to Simi H.S.).
12:00pm Lunch Break. Either bring your lunch, or buy one off campus.
12:45pm Bus LEAVES Taft for Simi Valley H.S.
1:45pm Arrive at Simi. Unload equipment, and change into uniforms.
2:15pm Start warm ups, tune, & play through program.
2:30pm Break. Drinks and snacks.
2:45pm Continue with warm ups and make final adjustments.
3:00pm Be in Staging Area.
3:15pm Perform.
3:30pm Go back to Bus; put instruments away and change clothes.
3:45pm Be in the stands and watch the next two groups perform.
4:15pm Return to the bus, and be ready to leave.
4:30pm Bus LEAVES to return to Taft.
5:30pm Bus arrives at Taft. Unload, and put all equipment away.
All band officers need to be back at Simi Valley H.S. (by private transportation) by 7:30pm for the Awards Ceremony. (Ceremony should start between 8:00 and 8:30pm and is expected to last about an hour.)
DIRECTIONS to Simi Valley High School for those parents who are planning to go.
From Taft, take Ventura Blvd. west to DeSoto.
North on DeSoto to the 118 Freeway.
West on the 118 to Yosemite Ave.
South on Yosemite Ave to Cochran St
(according to my map its the first street you will come to)
turn RIGHT (west) on Cochran St.
Parking and Registration will be at the corner of Cochran and Stearns
The school address is 5400 Cochran St. Simi Valley 93063
