Uniforms

There are formal (Class "A") and informal (Class "B") uniforms. For competitions students must wear the Class "A" uniform. Class "A" uniforms are about $350 each. Reponsible for keeping it in good condition, and altering it if necessary. Informal uniforms are red dickie, white shirt, black pants and special black shoes. Band shoes are available at Peacocks in Anaheim, about $25.00 Kids are not expected to go out and buy any of these items. They are supposed to get measured and Mr. Burch will order them.

The Drum Line will have a different set of uniforms. There are 9 people in the Drum Line. There is a parent committee to select Drum Line uniforms. But the cost of those uniforms will be spread over the entire group of all of us (including non-Drum Line musicians).

$$$

Shortly Mr. Burch will ask each student for about $250.00 based on a break down of upcoming band costs. It will be in installments, the first installment will be $50.00

There will be fund raising. The purpose of this is primarily to get money for the March trip.

He has some parent volunteers and when he gets offers in the mail to sell merchandise etc. he will give it to them and they'll decide whether or not to do it. Last year one of the parents came every Friday to Taft at Nutrition time and handed out boxes of cookies to sell and collected the money.

We will have a booth at the Sunday Farmer's Market. (rev. Oct. 23, 2002)

We will have a Halloween fund raiser event. Students wear uniforms. (rev. Oct. 24, 2002)

We need to raise about $140 per student. Kids can sell 5 boxes of candy to raise $140. Or attend other fund raisers as the semester goes on. Or write a check for $140. Due end of Fall semester. (Oct. 15th parents meeting)

Trips

The Las Vegas performance trip during Spring Break has been cancelled.

He has done trips with the Heritage Company, and the MusicLand Company. He prefers the Heritage Company. In the past, trips to San Diego, San Francisco, Las Vegas.

The cost of the music performance trip to Las Vegas is about $325 of which $100 deposit is due the last week in November. At that time we will make a decision about whether the trip is a viable option. If it is determined that we should not take the trip (for example if there are too few deposits taken), all trip funds will be returned. If we decide to go ahead with the trip, the deposit becomes non-refundable and is credited to the student's trip account. (Oct. 15th parents meeting)

Volunteers Needed

Need a volunteer to attach wheels to the director's platform; will be reimbursed for out of pocket expenses, cost of parts and materials.
