I am an instructor in the Sociology Department at Hamline University in St. Paul, Minnesota. I will begin teaching at Grinnell College in the fall of 2009.
I am also a graduate student at Princeton University working on a dissertation that explores that transformation of the organic food industry in the United States from 1965 - 2002. My research interests include the politics and organizations involved as the organic market grew from a marginalized segment of the retail grocery sector into a major niche market, one that is now embraced by many of the same corporations that earlier activists harshly critiqued.
I am fond of good chocolate, Belgian beer, and baseball.
I support causes that preserve and expand social justice.

The bulk of this web site is a collection of links to help me in various aspects of my research, along with some political commentary every now and again.
