The Art of Marketing
workshop offered in March of 2004

The Cultural Arts Council arranged a special workshop in March for our Grassroots Arts Program "grantees" and Satellite Arts Organizations. Over the past few years, we have heard from local arts and community groups that publicity and marketing are especially challenging. In response, we lined up an expert to assist in the "Art of Marketing" for non-profit organizations. The workshop took place at the Cultural Arts Center in Douglasville.

On Saturday, March 27th, from 12:30 to 3:30 pm, Paul Pierce, artistic director of the Springer Opera House in Columbus, shared his tips for building community support and participation through effective publicity and marketing techniques.

Paul oversees the Grassroots Arts Program for Muscogee and surrounding counties, and he is well acquainted with the challenges we all face. This was also an opportunity for groups to share with each other what has worked for them.

The Cultural Arts Council was able to offer Paul Pierce's expertise to our Grassroots groups free of charge thanks to support from the Georgia Council for the Arts.
