Christmas Layouts

The photos below are two layouts I have made for Christmas in 2005 .

1st Layout was made for my in-laws and second was for our home.

Both layouts have an artificial tree base (holder) pipe with flange mounted in the center along with and electrical out to plug the tree into.

There are also light plugs under each building and a main switch on the side where the transforrmer plugs in.

 Streets and sidewalks are done with 1/8" & 1/4" Masonite. Snow is with baking soda. Mountains/ rocks are carved from blue foam.

This layout uses Lionel Fastrack

The track used on the layout below is MTH Realtrax coved with ballast for a more realistic look.

Crossings are MTH and have a insulated track block that triggers the crossing flasher and bell. The speaker is located into the center in the mountain foam. I also installed a rocker switch on the side of the layout to kill the sound If I want.
