Sitting in the middle of nowhere, between Boardman and Arlington there is no site like it in the Gorge accept for it's malformed twin LoRok's Islands, across the river. Even the Hook doesn't offer the versatility of Three Mile Canyon. Virtually surrounded by low lying islands, the lagoon is completely sheltered from the current and the wind is undisturbed. Perfect for the beginning high wind sailor. If more agressive sailing is what you like it's as close as the main channel. Full on Gorge style wave sailing with excellent ramps to port.

When it blows at Three Mile, it usually cranks. Expect early season sailing and shredding until late summer.

On bigger days expect 6-8 foot swells in the main channel. Set up in long sweeping patterns, the swells are ocean like with broad shoulders that can ce surfed for distance. The inside of the lagoon is glassy and perfect for water start practice.

D I R E C T I O N S Three Mile Canyon On the Oregon side of the river, 14 miles east of Arlington. Take exit #158 off of I-84. Travel north under the highway and bear left. Follow the dirt and gravel road down to the boat ramp. Alternative parking / launching is down river 100 yards.
