Well as you all know we have been really busy here at Rancho Crewse-N-Beagles, and have hardly had time at all to check in with you all and I know you are all curious as to what we have been up to....

Day One, Contractor came out to tell us what we needed to have the building constructed... And they also wanted a layout of how we wanted it set up so that was a pretty mundane day considering all that has happened since....

Day Two Construction Begins (Good Grief they were here at 6:30 AM) Setting up forms, digging holes and you name it....

And poured one concrete pad.....

Day three, good grief those guys can move...

Day 4 again the contractors were here bright and early they are really proving to be a work hard crew, they were out there pounding nails and putting up the forms for the building, and wouldn't you know it they started getting the metal on the shed too....

Day 5 the building was completed, we did our final inspection, and wrote them their final check and they was outa here....

but first he had to complete the welping shed for Dottie was coming home to roost with her brood.....

Which can be viewed at the following link.

First we had to determin how big to make the whelping boxes, where to place them and then we needed to cover all the cracks in the building with boards to keep the old charm to the building. Once the boards were placed and the box was built Tracy wired the building with lights and outlets for ease of use.

Work Begins

Prior to pouring the concrete on Day 3 our assignment from the contractors was to cut in the plumbing fixtures for water and sewer service, we had the afternoon to get this done once they put up all the framing for the kennel.

The plumbing was so that we can have a grooming area and a bathroom to include a washer and dryer in the future once the kennel is completed.

And guess what they had enough left over to pour the floor for the whelping shed.....

The whelping shed was initially a chicken coup and we found enough materials to repair the exterior of the building, filled the floor with crushed rock and cleaned it all out, constructed whelping boxes, put in electrical outlets, and lighting.

We are just about ready to put in an air-conditioner just need to do a few more finishing touches to get that far.

NOW was time for Tracy to get busy and he did he made one out side kennel run. We designed the kennel runs out of conduit and some fencing hardware, with a little twist to all of it to get what we needed for the fencing hardware wouldn't quite work properly as designed so we had to improvise with some of it.

It took us going back to the drawing board several times to get the look we were looking for, but we got it done and have found some really good tricks to do it your self construction on kennel run panels.
