Miniature Horses
Miniature horses make excellent pets because of their small size and gentle, affectionate nature. They can be
trained to pull a cart or can be ridden by small children. Best of all, they like attention and love from everyone they meet.
Miniature horses require much the same care as standard size horses. One acre of good graze will support 2 miniature horses.
A bale of quality hay will usually last one miniature horse a week. Two pounds of commercial food, water and a pad or two
of hay per day is usually sufficient to maintain a miniature horse. Miniature horses are very hardy and can remain outdoors
throughout the winter with some shelter provided.
There are two associations which register miniature horses. The American Miniature Horse Association registers
horses 34 inches or less and the American Miniature Horse Registry registers horses 34 inches or less in Division A and horses
34-38 inches in Division B. The height for miniature horses is measured at the withers at the last hairs in the mane. All
of our breeding mares and all but one of our stallions are both American Miniature Horse Association and American Miniature
Horse Registry registered.
Glenmore Farms currently has four stallions (26, 28, 31 & 32 inches) and nine mares (28-34
inches). We occasionally offer show and companion quality bred mares, weanlings and stallions for sale. Prices
