be the theme at the Activist
Wednesday, October 29 - 7:00 PM
Friends Meeting Hall located at 1440 Harvard Street in Santa Monica
organizing and voting to defeat "Prop D", the deceptive national
general aviation interest- backed Santa Monica Airport (SMO) ballot initiative
will be the topic of discussion at the Wednesday, October 29 Activist
Support Circle public forum taking place from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM
at the Friends Meeting Hall located at 1440 Harvard Street in Santa Monica.
With less than a week
from the Oct. 29 forum until the Nov. 4 election, speakers will emphasize the
importance of a concerted community mobilization to defeat the deceptive
"Prop D" initiative and pass the local control "Prop LC"
initiative instead. Speakers will also discuss the ongoing public health and
safety threats at SMO as well as the short and long term benefits of closing
the poorly located airport when the FAA airport agreement with the City expires
on July 1, 2015.
Speakers will include
Martin Rubin, founder and director of Concerned Residents Against
Airport Pollution (CRAAP), and Susan Hartley, former member of the Santa
Monica Airport Commission.
The forum is free and
free onsite parking is available. Light refreshments will be served at 6:30pm.
