What are the Vision & Goals of the Temple CPR Task Force?

Vision: 10% of the Temple resident lay population is able to administer bystander CPR as well as quickly find and use a public defibrillator thus significantly and measurably improving the sudden cardiac arrest survival rate for Temple citizens and the surrounding areas.

Goals: The vision will be accomplished by:

  1. Finding funding for and acquiring sufficient American Heart Association CPR Anytime for Family & Friends kits to prepare 10% of the Temple population to administer bystander CPR and use a public defibrillator;

  1. Developing and implementing a methodology to teach bystander CPR and public defibrillator use to 10% of the Temple population;

  1. Developing an in-building location inventory of public defibrillators available in the Temple area; and,

  1. Empowering 911 facilities serving the Temple area to locate public defibrillators on a real time basis within the immediate vicinity of a sudden cardiac arrest event, upon receiving a 911 call.
