HealthDay - WEDNESDAY, Oct. 27 (HealthDayNews) -- Drug abuse among some anesthesiologists may be linked to exposure to low doses of powerful anesthetic drugs administered intravenously to surgery patients, according to a University of Florida study.

This is an intriguing theory on the reason why anesthesiologists are more prone to drug abuse. While far from a definitive cause still, more research will need to be done. Most experts believe that the high drug abuse rate is simply due to the ease of availability of such substances in an anesthesiologist's workplace.
