We don't live in isolation. We must heal ourselves first, then heal the world. And we can!
As we become more whole and integrated, we realize our interconnection with all Beings and all of creation. "First become
nobody, then you can be everybody," - Sri Sri Ravi Shankar. Peace comes to those who see the One behind the diversity...And
service is our dharma - the eternal dharma. Not out of duty, but out of compassion - a natural result of the open heart. Like
the Bodhisattva who turns back from the gates of Heaven, returning to earth to help all beings enter first. This is karma
yoga. "Follow your joy in meeting the world's need", Ram Dass said. At the same time we realize this world is the stage where
drama plays out endlessly, and but one step on the journey through eternity. It too, will pass. Service can take many forms,
according to one's own temperament. Quiet mind alone speaks volumes. Think globally, act locally is a good model. The effects
of our actions ripple throughout the world and beyond. But only when we fully let go of our attachment to the outcome is it
yoga. For some, the inward path of yoga is their calling...for others, it is to be more engaged in the world. There is a calling
for everyone.
