"An Everlasting Salvation"
08/12/2003

"Israel has been saved by the LORD With an everlasting salvation; You will not be put to shame or humiliated To all eternity." Isaiah 45:17 NAS

This verse shows us an awesome picture of God's grace through His eternal promises. We as His children have been saved with an everlasting salvation. That means exactly what it says, "Everlasting!" It is eternal life from the day we believe in Jesus Christ as our Savior. In the last devotional we saw that we are immediately saved and are immediately taken to the other side.

This also means it is immediately everlasting. The Lord was saving Israel from its captivity in Babylon and the idol makers were going to be put to shame by the only true and living God. He was promising Israel as He does us that we will never be put to shame in Him. Even though the world shames us, casts insults and condemns us, the Lord will never shame us. He has saved us for all eternity.

Our great God has loved us with an everlasting love. Are you rejoicing yet? This should bring great joy to your daily walk. If you’re like me then you may seem to blow it often and wonder, "How does God love me?" or you might think, "How can He save someone like me?" Do you ever feel that way? If you have you’re not alone for sure. The best news is that His love for us is everlasting.

His everlasting love had you and I in mind when He died on that cross. His everlasting salvation was for you and I when He was on that cross. Everlasting salvation in terms of redemption through and only through the shed blood of Jesus Christ can only be described in human terms as infinite. We are saved infinitely without any measure of time. We seem to live in a constant measure of time.

Our days are spent measuring how much time we have in a day to get everything done. Of course there never seems to be enough time. Then as we get older we measure time as distance in regards to how long we have left here on earth. The older we get the faster we seem to travel through this measure of time. God does not work in the measure of time as we do because He is outside of time. He contains all of time.

His salvation is outside of time because it is everlasting. In fact the actual word for everlasting in Hebrew is `owlam (o-lawm'); or `olam (o-lawm') and has the meaning of concealed, i.e. the vanishing point; generally, time out of mind (past or future), i.e. (practically) eternity; frequentatively, adverbial (especially with prepositional prefix) always (1)." It is something that is perpetual and never ending.

Nothing in this world can be described as perpetual except for God and His salvation. Today trust that He loves you and has saved you with an everlasting salvation. He has not only brought you out of the bondage of sin and death but has given you eternal life to spend with Him forever and ever. Praise and glory be to His name. "Trust in the LORD forever, For in GOD the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock." Isaiah 26:4

Everlastingly His,
Adam

It is my prayer that you would be encouraged in your day-to-day walk and that you would be in the word everyday.
