"This one will say, 'I am the Lord's'; And that one will call on the name of Jacob; And another will write on his hand, 'Belonging to the LORD,' And will name Israel's name with honor."
Isaiah 44:5 NAS

We have here an awesome verse and one that rings with assurance. This verse follows the last verse we looked at in regards to the second part of Isaiah 44:3. The Lord speaks about pouring His spirit on the children of Israel; that is on the children of God's people. The result is that they would know to whom they belong and who their God truly was. They would know they were the Lords chosen people.

I love to know and be assured of the Lord's ownership of my life. I love to know that we are the Lord's possession. Like a son to his Dad seeking for that approval and protection. As a son you long to know you belong to your Dad. It is a great security to know the protection and comfort we have in our heavenly Father for eternity. Of course as you know this whole ministry is based on encouraging people to know they are sealed in Jesus and to know to whom they belong.

In Ephesians 1:13-14 it says, "In Him, you also, after listening to the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation-- having also believed, you were sealed in Him with the Holy Spirit of promise, who is given as a pledge of our inheritance, with a view to the redemption of God's own possession, to the praise of His glory.”

Because of Jesus we can say confidently that we are the Lord's. Galatians 3:28-29 says, "...for you are all one in Christ Jesus. And if you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's offspring, heirs according to promise." We are not only His sons and daughters; we are heirs of the inheritance of Christ in the saints (Eph 1:18). It isn't some guessing game as to whether we belong to the Lord. We are the Lords and are to know it without a doubt.

Remember 1 John 5:13 says, "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may know that you have eternal life." God always reminds and confirms to us through His word that we belong to the Him. We are the Lords and it brings great peace knowing that we belong to God not based on approval or anything we can do to get approval.

To belong we must simply believe that He is (Heb 11:6, Rom 10:9-10). We are apart of the unashamed now who confess Jesus Christ as Daddy, Father, Savior, King of kings and Lord of lords. We can be confident that the Lord knows those who belong and those who don’t. In 2 Timothy 2:19 it says, “Nevertheless, the firm foundation of God stands, having this seal, "The Lord knows those who are His." I want you to do something today that you might think is strange.

I want to take a pen and write on your right hand the phrase, “Belonging to the LORD.” Be sure to glance down at it throughout the day and thank the Lord that you belong to Him. Thank Him that you are His adopted son or daughter chosen for this very purpose and time to glorify Him. Then be ready to answer the questions and give an account to those who ask about what your hand says. Make sure it is the right hand because that signifies honor and we have been given honor by the King to spend eternity with Him in heaven.

Know “O seed of Abraham, His servant, O sons of Jacob, His chosen ones!” that “…He brought forth His people with joy, His chosen ones with a joyful shout (Ps 105:6, Ps 105:43).” Know that you are His chosen one and that you belong to Him. He loves you eternally and infinitely.
