"'For I will pour out water on the thirsty land And streams on the dry ground; I will pour out My Spirit on your offspring, And My blessing on your descendants.” Isaiah 44:3 NAS

Does your spirit need a little water poured on it? Does your soul long to filled with the Holy Spirit's satisfaction. Is your heart thirsty for God the living God? Psalms 42:2 says, "My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God?" Here in this verse in Isaiah we see a natural need of our hearts. That is to be satisfied like when a drought dry land receives a lot of water.

There is only one who can satisfy that thirst we have in our inmost being. Too often unfortunately we try to pour other things into us to satisfy what only God can do. When we look to the world to satisfy this thirst that we all have in our hearts we only get what the world has to offer. It is the same thing it had to offer Christ. All the world has to offer our thirst is vinegar or sour wine.

Spiritually speaking we get what a thief on the cross was given. Except it is all dressed up like an advertisers dream to deceive us into thinking it will satisfy. Thankfully though we have been given a promise in Matthew 5:6. It says, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied." Jesus promises to pour out His Spirit upon us especially when our hearts look like a cracked, dry, parched open desert land.

Do you ever feel that way? Life can be like a scorching sun on our lives leaving us desperate, tired and lonely, thirsting for satisfaction. It is in these times that we need His streams on our dry land. The King James Version uses the word 'Floods' on a dry land. The floods are the Holy Spirit poured over a dry heart. When our hearts become like a dry land they can feel helpless and hopeless. The real can become an illusion or a mirage. We need to focus on the truth of God's word.

Have you felt this way lately? Do you need an outpouring of the Holy Spirit upon your dry heart? Just call on the name of Jesus. Call out to Him right now. Call out to Him from wherever your desert land is located. It is possible to live in the most humid tropical location in the world and feel as dry as the driest land in the world. You may go to church every week and feel as lonely as a dead tree in the evergreen forest.

Be revived today and let the outpouring of Jesus fill you with His love to overflowing satisfaction. Your heart will brighten up and go from the dusty brown desert to lush green rolling hills. Your heart will become filled with His joy and no one can truly explain that joy in full. It takes a little mustard seed of faith to jump-start a dry heart and how awesome it is to watch the Lord's Spirit satisfy the thirst like only He can. Pretend your heart is an upside down glass and turn it over to be filled up.
