"It will be said in that day..."
02/18/2003

"And it will be said in that day, "Behold, this is our God for whom we have waited that He might save us. This is the LORD for whom we have waited; Let us rejoice and be glad in His salvation."
Isaiah 25:9 NAS

This is one of those sit down and imagine verses. All of us who are waiting for the day of salvation and the hope that will come only in Christ, long in the depth of our hearts for this day to come. Here again I want you to imagine the day when we will say words similar to this verse. Close your eyes and let your finite mind try to picture it. It is will be a sweet day for sure won't it?

We will finally be walking in His presence. We will finally be delivered from the power of sin and death. We will finally have no more tears and no more broken hearts. In the previous verse of this chapter it says, "He will swallow up death for all time, And the Lord GOD will wipe tears away from all faces, And He will remove the reproach of His people from all the earth; For the LORD has spoken (Isa 25:8)."

This will be the victory song we can sing. Our deliverance has come our deliverance has come! Our prayers that say, "Maranatha Lord!" Our hearts cry in a dark cold sinful world that says, "Come Quickly Lord!" We long for the salvation that comes from God and Him alone. How about you, do you long for that day when He will receive us unto Himself? Does that bring joy to you for whatever you may be going through today? He as our Father will lean down and wipe all our tears away and fill us with gladness.

Oh, how glorious it will be for on that day we will see 1 Corinthians 15:54 in picture form. Where it says "But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, "Death is swallowed up in victory. "O death, where is your victory? O death, where is your sting?" The sting of death is sin, and the power of sin is the law; but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Thanks be to His name in the highest, praise Him all you who love His glorious name. The first thing that happens in this verse and also what we will do is to acknowledge where our deliverance comes from. It comes from "...our God and Savior Jesus Christ (Titus 2:13)." For we know "...there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men, by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12)."

We wait earnestly and eagerly for Him to come back for us and deliver us from this world. We wait for the final phase of our salvation when He comes and takes us home to be with Him in a place prepared for us (John 14:2). This is when we will be brought into glorification (Rom 8:17). We have been given complete justification and right now we live our lives through sanctification and the Father through Christ sees us in the present and the future in glorification (Rom 8:29-30).

I can't wait for that day, can you? It will be something that at this moment we can not even imagine how we will express it. Still sometimes it seems like we are waiting too long for His return. Do you ever feel that way? Waiting can be such a hard thing. Just waiting in the grocery store line can be a trial of the patients. We ask for Him to return and even believe that our generation will see His return on that great day.

Every generation of Christians from the first apostles till present has believed that. Of course no other generation could say it like the generations of today with all the fulfilled prophecy and the technology advances that we have today. This is something to rejoice about for sure. On that day we will certainly rejoice at His return. We will definitely be glad in His salvation. Have you ever been on a long trip away from home that was not such a good time? Upon arriving home you have that sense of gladness and say, "Boy, I am glad to be home."

There is always such a peace to be at home in your own home. That is how it will be for us on that marvelous day. We will finally be home. We will be home in the Lord and in His rest. We will definitely rejoice and be glad to be in heaven with the Father. Just like there is no other name in which we must be saved, there is also no joy in this world that compares to the joy of the Lord on that day when we will see His salvation.

We will rejoice and be glad in Him and it will be complete gladness on a day when we enter eternity. May you be surrounded in joy as you imagine the day when we are caught up.

In His Love,
Adam

It is my prayer that you would be encouraged in your day-to-day walk and that you would be in the word everyday.
