Antique Rose Sale to Benefit New Negley Elementary
Artist’s Garden and Outdoor Classroom.
Plans for an exciting new Children’s
Garden are underway at Negley Elementary. Early phases of the project include
a Butterfly Habitat and Blackland Prairie Wildflower Trail, and a Children’s Impressionist Art Garden and outdoor classroom. Surrounded by a color wheel of blooms, the art garden will provide a space for art
classes for the students and community, storytelling, and a living lab for creative science instruction and other classes. The garden will also be available for community events and outdoor classes.
In addition to grants, an important source
of funding will be contributions of time, materials and funds from the community. The
first fundraiser, a sale of antique roses, will benefit homeowners and provide a source of initial start-up funds. The Antique Rose Emporium has made very special pricing available to benefit the Children’s Garden
project.
The two-gallon own root roses from the Antique
Rose Emporium will be available at the discounted price of $16. Rose varieties
have been carefully selected to celebrate the unique architectural charm and growing conditions of Plum Creek. Residents can choose by color and function from collections of front porch column climbers, mailbox plantings,
roses for the front porch beds, fence showcases and even roses to drape well over the roof line. To view the collections and download order forms, browse here or visit www.plumcreektxhoa.com. But hurry and order for best selection. Roses will be delivered November 11th
at the Negley Elementary Carnival.
Antique roses are extremely well-suited to
Plum Creek because they require little maintenance, handle our weather extremes easily, enjoy a long life in the landscape
and offer an inexpensive source of beauty and charm. All roses selected are repeat
bloomers. Planting instructions and a free workshop are included with purchase. Pre-paid orders will be available for pick-up at the Negley Elementary PTA Carnival
on November 11th. Checks should be payable to Negley Elementary. A limited number of roses will be available for purchase at the carnival, so pre-ordering
is strongly encouraged to insure selection.
Please email cottagegardeners@earthlink.net or landscape@plumcreektxhoa.com for additional information. For an additional $5 donation to the Garden or a
10 rose purchase, a volunteer knowledgeable in antique roses will come to your house in Plum Creek to help with site selection.
Order a collection of antique roses and support
the kids of Plum Creek and their gardening efforts!
