Redbuds in Spring - J. Hassinger

We started from the enthusiasm of a fun and friendly group of neighbors with common gardening interests in our new subdivision.  We had to scramble for meeting space as we grew, but now our lovely new community center will become our permanent meeting space.  Stay tuned for schedule and program details.
Our common interests

Do you share our interest in antique roses, cottage gardens, and other charming heirloom favorites?  Are you fascinated at the prospect of growing living history from a $2 packet of seed?

Started from the vision of a fun & friendly group of neighbors brought together by blooms, we now meet once a month to further explore interesting topics, host guest speakers, take field trips, and share gardening tips along with cuttings, seeds and plant divisions.  We are located in Zone 8b in the central Texas town of Kyle, just a little south of Austin.

How it works

Like cottage gardening itself, we are very informal.  And we love our planet, hoping to make it just a little more beautiful for having been here, so we prefer organic methods and teach water conservation and the cultivation of native and well-adapted plants.

Strongly education-oriented, we welcome all levels of garden experience.  Beginners and mentors are equally beloved. All are welcome.

There are no dues or fees, but donations are appreciated to help underwrite materials and handouts for our all-volunteer effort.   We open the meeting to a garden question & sharing forum the last 30 minutes.

Meetings

After a hiatus where we were without a local free facility to meet on weekends, our lovely community room in Plum Creek has now been completed.  Meetings will resume as soon as a consistent schedule can be worked out.  Email with suggestions.
