The VPK program runs from August through late May or early June (see School Year Calendar
for exact dates) and is available to children who turn 4 years old on or before September 1st.
In our full-time VPK program, we receive payment from two sources: (1) The State
pays our school directly for 540 hours of instruction per school year (three hours per day for 180 days), and (2) Parents pay tuition for the hours before and after the designated three VPK hours each
day ("extended care" tuition).
VPK School Year Tuition
- "Extended care" tuition is due in full each week from parents throughout the entire VPK school
year, regardless of whether or not the child
is in attendance. The only exceptions are during VPK "vacation weeks."
VPK Vacation Weeks
- VPK "vacation weeks" are not funded by the State and attendance is not required or monitored; however, Cornerstone
will still be open for those children who wish to attend. Tuition is due from parents as outlined below:
-
If your child attends
school any day(s) during a VPK vacation week, regular "extended care" tuition is due
-
If your child is absent
for an entire VPK vacation week, half "extended care" tuition is due
After the
VPK program ends in the spring, children may continue attending Cornerstone for the
summer months and they will then have the option of switching to a part-time program, if available, for
the remainder of the summer. Since we no longer receive State funding once the VPK school year has ended, regular (non-VPK)
tuition rates will apply. We
reserve the right to dismiss children who have excessive tardies, absences, or those who cannot meet their tuition commitment
for the entire VPK school year.
