Copeland/Deal Ancestry

This genealogical site provides information about the Copeland and Deal families, related families, and their ancestors, who lived mostly in South Carolina and Georgia in the 17th, 18th, and 19th centuries and in Georgia in the 20th century. In South Carolina, the families lived mostly in the lowcountry and in Abbeville, Anderson, and Laurens counties. In Georgia, the families lived mostly in the following counties: Carroll, Coweta, Fulton, Hall, Heard, and Jackson.
Most of the immigrants came from Scotland, England, Ireland and, to a far lesser extent, France. Quite a few served in the Revolutionary War and the Civil War.
