My name is Ed Cooper and railroad photography
is more than a hobby for me. It's a passion, a way I choose to celebrate my spare time and life. In this photo
album, I've assembled some of my favorite train photographs and some that are representational of my work. There is a newly
added page showing Terry Kirkland's photographs.
The photo at right is one of my first efforts. My real start came five years
later in the Fall of 1969. This online album will document a few of the earlier attempts and continue right up to
date. I've been in all 50 states and have train photographs from 35 of them. During the course of all this photography
I've taken or collected over 12,000 images. That may seem like a lot to some, but compared to others its kind of middling.
Although I prefer western prototype, a train is still a train. Trains are where you find them pretty much describes what this
is all about. I went out found a train and took its picture. Every picture tells a story, don't it?
