Does your business have a mission statement? If so, how well does it reflect your business? Is it up-to-date? Is it available
to the public?
Decide what your manifesto is. What are your objectives? The mission statement reflects the purpose of your business. It gives
you a focus, and keeps you on track.
A mission statement should be concise. In one to four sentences, you should state clearly your intent, vision, direction,
and intended audience. Remember that every word counts. Take your time in writing the statement. Get input from other people.
Look at the mission statements of other businesses.
Here are some questions to consider:
1. Why are you in business?
2. What is the philosophy of your business?
3. Who are your customers?
4. What image do you want to project?
5. What products or services do you offer?
6. How do you differ from your competitors?
Below are some examples:
"To organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful." ~ Google
"Through innovative educational experiences that awaken the best in the human spirit, Omega provides hope and healing
for individuals and society." ~ Omega Institute
"To create a humane and sustainable world for all animals, including people, through education, advocacy, and the promotion
of respect and compassion." ~ Humane Society of the United States
