Trip Around the CW - started with a packet of Civil War reproduction fabrics, done in a trip around the world style
When I first saw the Dear Jane book by Brenda Papadakis I thought that it was way too much work, and I didn't have time for it.  A friend thought Jane was nuts, and I agreed.  Several years later I found out that Electric Quilt had made a CD with the patterns.  I had recently bought some Civil War reproduction fabrics and was looking for a project to use them.  Not having enough for this quilt I searched out more on the Internet, bought a bolt of background fabric and went to work.
The blocks were made between July 2003 and May 2004, triangles and kites completed by September 2004.  Center assembled May/June 2004, but the triangles weren't added until July 2005.
I am currently quilting... and will be for a while.

Fairy Jane
Proof of concept, pieced long weekend, July 2003

This was my test quilt, to see if I liked making these small blocks.  I made it over the Fourth of July long weekend, so I guess I did.
Fairy Jane was made using a fat quarter packet to start, then I added the green and border fabrics.  The leftovers were used for the pieced back, and the extra block (A-6) was used for the label.
