Fire Dummies, Fire!!!
I go with the parental unit and the little demon know as my brother to First Call at Neiman Marcus.  I was so very excited, Burberry and St. John for 33% off.  What a steal???  As I approach the Burberry jacket I just bought in black for a hundred dollars more, I begin to smell smoke and hear the annoying sound of an alarm.  I am steaming that there is a Burberry jacket in my size for so cheap...but there is a catch the jacket is in red and the jacket I bought is in black - so I shouldn't be that upset, but I was peaved.  I am going off topic so let me get back to the fire.  Okay, so I am smelling smoke, hearing an alarm but the staff isn't clearing out Neiman's (commission folks, commission)...Finally, some old fart tells his wife who is enthralled by a Rena Lage piece that Macy's had a fire and they closed off Saks (dammit I was going there after Neiman's) and now the smoke was filling into Neiman's so they should leave.  His wife didn't want to go, but my family and I did, so we bid farewell to Neiman's and the killer sale and departed.  On our ascent out of Neiman's we still see folks hammering through the clothes for the sale.  All I could say is, it is a fire dummies, 33% off ain't worth it.  By the time we got to our car we finally heard the fire trucks and police coming, so we made it out just in time.  Now if this was Last Call - I might have been one of those dummies...that's 60% off people.  Now that is a sale.

New fond fun...
Life has been a little crazy with my recuperation and trying to get back up to speed with life and work.  But, I think I am making it...I only forgotten my name twice today.  In the quest to be more adventrous have been venturing out more...went to my first sponsored Wellesley Happy Hour at Capitol Lounge and enjoyed myself with some 25 cent tacos, a house salad, a great Shirley Temple (with no cherries mind you) and great conversation from some fellow alumnae - looking forward to the next one.  I am also amped up for my other sponsored Happy Hour at Hamburger Hamlet this Friday for my job.  Being the little hostess for the DC area Wellesley Young Alumnae and for my job has me getting out and meeting new folks.  And to top if off, I have decided to take up cooking lessons -- Woo Hoo!!! I hope I don't poison anyone.

Getting behind a good canidate...
I have been debating back and forth on who to support for the '04 Presidential election...The decision has been heartbreaking because I didn't want to vote just to get Bush out, but I wanted to vote my conscious -- My conscious tells me that Dennis Kucinich might be the way to go!!!  His platform is right up my alley!!!
