Step Nine...
I feel as though I am going through a 12-step recovery program.

Frontin'
Why am I lovin' this song "Frontin'" by Pharrell??? Does it have anything to do with Jay-Z being up in the mix...I think it does, I think it does!!!

Rebirth…
Okay, so I only
got my chin opened on Friday instead of both my chin and my throat and now all is well.
I don’t know why my surgeon changed things but should I care…it’s one less scar and the most important thing - I am
PAIN FREE!!! Woo Hoo!!!
And due
to the lack of pain I am thinking so clearly…I stopped by my favorite place and was able to do something that I haven’t been
able to do in 9 months (free-hand writing)…it was very refreshing. I purged and
it was good! But, I noticed something today - I don’t have blinders on…I see
hotness everywhere. Since I moved back to the D.C. Metro area I didn’t realize
there were so many hotties here. Oh, yeah baby!!! I was riding into VA and experiencing
whiplash. I don’t know if the removal of blinders will be a good thing for my
safety (or others), but I feel good about it right now.

I'm officially crazy!!!
I must be, because I just had a ten-minute lapse of time where I
actually convinced myself that I missed Boston. I mean I have always missed the people that I got to know, love and learn from, but never actually Boston and the
surrounding areas itself. I actually was having good memories of going to the grocery store in Weston and having
little not so-old ladies telling me to put their groceries in their cars, dodging rats in the Fens, freezing my ass off waiting
for the T to take me to my undesired location in East Boston, getting yelled at by the soap-box preacher in Harvard Square, praying that my car and my life would be spared the moment I drove my car out of my house garage and went into
the race car derby a.k.a. Route 9/Route 16/The Mass Pike/Any Rotary, and most importantly getting the 16 year-old pretending
to be 20 year-old M.I.T. student hitting on me. Yes, I am officially crazy!!!

Vacation…
I need a vacation and I need one bad!!! I don’t know where to go and what
to do, but if I could get away from work and home for at least 3 days I would be highly satisfied. Alas, that will not occur anytime soon, so I should just be happy with the scheduled hour of journal writing
on Sunday at my favorite place located somewhere on C. Drive in Virginia.

Dancing Spidey dreams…
I am back
at it again. I had another weird dream yesterday night, I guess this would go with the weird day I had as well. Yesterday, I felt so giddy for a moment I thought I was high or something.
Maybe it was all the excitement of getting the new issue of “Foreign Affairs” – Regardless of what the reason, I had a dream about the Dancing Spidey I viewed on the soiledmypants.com (via Sidepop and Roger Frost). It was hilarious…but instead of Spiderman dancing alone we were dancing together
in perfect rhythm to a mix of Hova songs. I frickin’ loved it and I woke up with the biggest smile on my face.

Am I Huey???
Radical -- Yes
Radical Scholar -- No
Scholar -- Sort of (instead of my usual sorta)...okay, lets be honest, on a good day maybe
Scornful -- Sometimes
Eternally Scornful -- No
Champion of the dispossessed -- Yes, but most folks can't tell
Brilliantly intelligent youth -- No
Should the question truly be...Do I want to be like Huey Freeman? The answer - YES!!!
20 aug 03 @ 5:22 pm
Oh, yeah baby, the new issue is in...
That’s right ladies
and gentlemen the new issue of “Foreign Affairs” is out. And this one should be rather juicy. “Bush at Midterm” – I can’t wait to get into the article written by fellow Wellesley Alumna Ms. Madeleine Albright titled “Bridges, Bombs, or Bluster?” Basic
premise of the Albright article…Does the White House care what others think and is our country paying the price for the White
House mistakes??? Then I will skip over the rest until I get down to the nitty-gritty of the “Pentagon’s New Foreign Footprint”
My head
won’t come out of the blue for at least two days!!!
20 aug 03 @ 3:01 pm
You have all been forewarned…
I wrote about Ms. Wright in the previous post because I have been listening to her CD, "Denials, Delusions & Decisions" non-stop since I pulled it out of my 1000+ CD pile on Tuesday afternoon. This
CD since its purchase has always been a comfort. Her voice, lyrics and message
helps remedy bad moods, upset stomachs and any other aliments…provided you listen with an open heart and mind. The CD is life!!!
So, the
warning is, if you set butt and foot within the confines of my CR-V you will be listening to this CD non-stop for the duration
of your ride (also know there will be times when I will repeat tracks 2, 4, 9 and 11 for at least 3 times each). How long will this warning go on for…I don’t know!!! But the
last time I went on a Ms. Wright Marathon it lasted for two weeks, then I migrated to Maxwell’s “NOW” for a week. And be reminded we are only in DAY TWO of this Ms. Wright Marathon.

Server problems...still!!!
My server is still acting all funny. My unedited PIMP
message (the one with the incorrect spelling of who's) posted like nine-thousand times. I am getting miffed and
pretty soon I will be on the outskirts of upset, going to the point of angry and then not far after I will be mad (and I know
I am not a dog, but I will be mad) then I will be downright evil...And in the words of Ms. Wright "you ain’t seen evil until you’ve dealt we me first hand"
Oh, Yeah!!!

Server trouble will summarize...
Okay, my server (Earthlink
via Trellix web/blog builder) was down all of yesterday and it looks like most of today. And TRUST me I had and have
some stuff to write/vent in full detail, but since it is new day and I don’t know when I will be able to post again, I will
summarize:
A real life Superman (August
18th) - Michelle and I go to PGCC to either get our class changed or refunded for the Motorcycle lessons we were scheduled to take this upcoming weekend (August 22 - 24, 2003). And what did we see in line...a real life Superman.
This man was so HOT we both had to look, okay stare at the man who looked like he jumped out of the pages of a comic book.
Man what a physique!!!
Motorcycle (August 18th)
- I wanted to take these motorcycle lessons so bad...but, since I will have my chin/throat sliced open on Friday morning,
I can't. I personally think that the anesthesia won't affect me too bad and if Michelle would just follow my advice I would make it through the lessons with no problems.
Nervous, a little (August
19th) - I am a tad bit nervous about my surgery this Friday...not the results, because I can't change that. What happens,
happens - it's life, nothing is guaranteed. But, I am nervous that my surgeon is not the most reliable. I mean
all the man and his worker had to do was fax my pre-opt orders over to the hospital. They were given four days notice.
Did they do it??? NO!!! - So this so called "great" surgeon is going to place a scalpel to my chin/throat (near some nerves
and blood vessels) and I shouldn't be the slightest bit nervous...I don't think so!!! I ain't Halle Berry's pinky toe,
but I have come to love and be quite fond of the face that God gave me and I would one, like to continue to still
have feeling in it and two, would love for it not to slump to one side due to a surgeons not so steady hand.

Your Black card has been revoked!!!
Someone who will rename
nameless revoked my Black card (not the American Express one...I wish!!! But, the race one). All because I went and saw “Open Range” with absolute glee. I can’t help it, I LOVE Robert Duvall and "Open Range" kicked ass!!! And YES, it was 2 hours and 15 minutes of supreme
joy. I loved every damn second and minute of the movie. And I didn’t hide my face (completely) during the gunfight, so it was gory but not too gory. I even internally hooted and hollered with teenage pop-star excitement when the bad guys got their asses
waxed. And yes I will be buying “Open Range” when it comes on DVD!!! Matter-of-fact, I am going to go buy the novel the movie was based off of by Lauran Paine!!!
So there...keep my Black card, I don't need - I know
my ass is and will always be Black!!!
And writing of Robert Duvall, I guess I should finally go and buy “The Apostle” on DVD so I can get a good cry during Sonny’s hollerin' angry-piss pray to God!!!
I'm listening to: Jay-Z featuring Big Jaz/Sauce Money "Bring It On"
