April, ah... what a month it's been! I now have five new clients:
New Mexican Erection, Mishka, Patria Jacobs,
Kat Parsons, and
John Frusciante. Apart from filing my taxes, taking a little time off for
myself, and sleeping... pretty much all I did this month was burn up the phones talking to all you guys about these
and all my wonderful clients. Took
Mishka to
Indie 103 here in Los Angeles where he was
a guest on
Native Wayne's show, then set up another one for him at
KUPD/Phoenix. Saw
Kat Parsons smoke two sold out shows (one here, one in
San Diego), where she impressed
some programmers from
KCRW, I might add. Also saw a couple of AMAZING shows from
Patria Jacobs,
who has a
Patsy Cline meets
Marianne Faithful meets
Portishhead thing going
on. Very cool. Then there was the surprise of the month: An add to spike rotation at
Indie 103 for
the
Mighty Six Ninety's "Leave this World"! NICE. The month of May will start the wheels in motion for three
new projects:
Langhorne Slim,
King Elementary, and
One of the Loudest Tragedies
Ever Heard. Plus more, probably. Rock n Roll. So, as the month of April now comes to a close, I have
some good news and I have some bad news: the bad news is I will not be at the
Coachella Festival this weekend.
Why? Because of the good news: I will be at
Musexpo (http://www.musexpo.net/) starting Sunday night. I know, I know... I probably could have pulled double duty like many of you will
be doing and hit both events, but you know what? I'm gonna need a little rest this weekend before I gear up for Musexpo. Oh,
and my lawyer wanted me to put up a link to his website, so if you go to the links section, you can check it out. In the words
of
Ricardo Montalban: "Smiles, everyone, smiles!"
