What WebLynx does
WebLynx was designed to handle links to things... web sites, databases,
documents, apps... just about anything, and lots of ‘em. WebLynx by
its most simplistic definition is a fancy web bookmark program, but it far
extends the bookmark metaphor in the following areas:

WebLynx is a database - Built specifically to
easily handle a large number of link entries. Traditional bookmarks
in today's browsers quickly become congested and cumbersome after about 50
links.

Standards based - Uses the Microsoft Access
database file format to store the data. It can be accessed by other applications
to provide additional functionality.

Non-proprietary - Uses DDE to launch and control
most applications. Works with either of the two leading Web Browsers and
most other applications as well.

Networkable - Share a pool of links. Great for
providing a centralized repository of categorized data links on a network.

Rate the link - Set your own rating of how important
the data that this link points to is. This puts the important items
on top.
