Deborah Phillips, M.S.

Deborah Phillips, M.S. is the Founder and President of Coach-Parenting, a company dedicated to helping moms and dads be the parents they want to be, everyday.  Ms. Phillips, author of The Coach-Parenting Certified Parent Program, is an expert in using coaching skills in parenting.  Passionate about parenting, Ms. Phillips shares her expertise with parents around the world through lectures, workshops, classes, books, and parenting tools. 

 

Ms. Phillips offers numerous resources for parents at her popular website,

www.coach-parenting.com. The basis of all of Ms. Phillips’ work is to teach parents how to:

  1. Use positive and empowering coaching skills in their everyday interactions with their children;
  2. Choose parenting words and actions that express their own values, beliefs, and ideas; and
  3. Coach themselves right in the middle of their parenting situations.

 

As a result of using Ms. Phillips’ tools and techniques, parents find that their parenting is easier, more positive, and more fulfilling. 

 

Ms. Phillips graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology from Smith College in Northampton, MA, USA.  Ms. Phillips also holds a Master of Science degree in Genetic Counseling from the University of California, Irvine, USA.  Ms. Phillips is a graduate of Coach University, is certified through Comprehensive Coaching U, and has served as an adjunct faculty member at the CoachVille Graduate School of Coaching. 

 

Ms. Phillips and her company, Coach-Parenting, continue to be a guiding force in the profession of parent coaching by training and licensing parent coaches around the world.  In addition, Ms. Phillips leads the Parenting Solutions Special Interest Group, an organization of 150 parent coaches worldwide.

 

Ms. Phillips has been quoted or featured in Woman's Day, WAC Magazine, The Boston Parent's Paper, Connections, Dads Today, Arkansas Democrat Gazette, Baby Zone, Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Parent Cafe, Lake Stevens Journal, HeraldNet, CBS News.com, and WebMD.  She has appeared on Evening Magazine, KGW-TV, KIRO News Radio 710, and Positive Talk Radio. 

 

Ms. Phillips was honored as the Business and Professional Women USA’s (BPW/USA) Young Careerist in 2004 in recognition of her career accomplishments and her contributions to women in business.  In 2004, Ms. Phillips received the Governor’s Recognition Award from Governor Gary Locke of Washington State.

 

Ms. Phillips and her family lead an active lifestyle which includes running, swimming, skiing, snowboarding, water-skiing, and wakeboarding.  Ms. Phillips' physical accomplishments include climbing the highest mountains in the contiguous United States (Mt. Rainier, Mt. Shasta, and Mt. Whitney) and running a marathon (Portland Marathon 2003).  Ms. Phillips resides with her husband and two children, ages 8 and 6, in Snohomish, WA, USA.
