The compositions on this website originate from the years 1991 to 2003 and are based, in large part, upon art from other disciplines. Poems, old French symbolist poetry, in many cases, as well as modern prose and even expressionist paintings have been employed as a basis on which his music is written.

Chris Milmerstadt (b. December 13, 1967, New York, USA). American composer of orchestral, chamber, piano, and other solo instrumental works, successfully performed throughout Europe and North America. Mr. Milmerstadt studied composition with Yvar Mikhashoff and Rodney Sharman, music theory with Carlo Pinto and William Kothe. Mr. Milmerstadt has a deep interest in post-tonal theory; his music composition is often atonal yet seldom 12-tone. Various works of poetry, as well as modern prose and paintings have been employed as a basis on which his music is written. Mr. Milmerstadt has had premiers in New York, Belgium, London, Nürnberg Germany, and Eindhoven, Netherlands.
