The Nazi Super-Men

Namor's ship landed not far away from the lines. The team jumped out and started running towards the trenches. The battle could be heard for miles, AA guns firing away at German planes, soldiers firing at each other.

"Don't think there'll ever be peace 'n' quiet here," Bucky said as they jumped into the trench.

"Yeah," Toro agreed.

"So, where are these "Super-Men" we're supposed to fight? This battle probably won't last. They'll get scared and run off once their strength goes away. Right?" Torch asked.

"I don't know. If they're each as strong as Master Man we could be in a little bit of trouble," Cap answered.

"Yeah, remember what he did to you, Subby?" Torch asked, recalling their first meeting with him.

"You didn't do much better yourself, Firebug," Namor told Torch.

"Hey now! I ..." The Torch was cut off by Cap.

"Those look like German planes," Cap pointed at a spot where the sky broke through the clouds. "Wait, they're transports!"

Most of the British soldiers stopped fighting and looked for the planes. When they did, some of the German soldiers wondered why and looked puzzled.

The transports dropped some parachutes and Toro stopped to count, "One, two, three, oh darn, lost count!"

"Those them?" Bucky wondered aloud.

"Think so, let's go!" Cap had already started running when the others knew what was going on.

They stopped at a place where the trench had a good view of the battle, and looked out. Ten men walked towards the British soldiers from the German lines. They were wearing costumes that looked almost identical to the one Master Man wore.

"Ten?!? This has got to be some sort of joke," but, Torch looked again to make sure. "This has not been a good day."

Each of the men had a number on his uniform. 1-10 to be exact. The guy with the 1 on him seemed to be the leader. They started running at the heroes. Then, all at once, the gun fire from the Germans stopped, it was a surprise to some of the British soldiers, and to Toro. Many of the British started firing at the Super-Men, but the bullets just bounced off.

"Flame on!" Torch and Toro yelled as they flew into the air.

"Don't tell me these guys are bullet proof, does that mean they're fire proof, too?" Toro asked Torch as they were throwing fire-balls to make a wall of flame.

Torch shrugged then said, "If they aren't, it's gonna hurt go'n through our little flame wall."

Namor was picking up a boulder to throw at the Super-Men. He lifted it over his head then threw it at them. It hit two of the ten, one of them had a 5 on his uniform, the other a 2. The two men rolled backward, they had a look of surprise and confusion on their faces. They got right back up and started to run at Namor. Namor, seeing how he could use this to his advantage, grabbed a log and held it out in front of him. The men didn't have enough time to slow down and ran into each side of the log. "Wham, Wham!"

Cap had problems of his own. Some of the guys that had excaped the Torch's flame wall were running at him and Bucky. There were 3 of them, 1, 4, & 7. Cap could only avoid them because if they hit him or Bucky, it would hurt. Bucky jumped over 1 and landed safely on the dirt ground. Captain America, on the other hand, took a hit on his shield. The impact knocked him back a little, but he wasn't out of the fight yet. He hit 7 with all he had, but the guy only took a couple of steps back.

"Hey, Namor, I could use a little help," Cap yelled.

Namor was punching one of the men he hit with the log. He spoke between punches, "Can't ...Wham! You ...Wham! See I'm ...Wham! Busy? Wham, wham, whamwhamwham!"

"I'll help," Toro said. He flew down by one of the Super-Men and ... "Fwoosh!" Toro set the guy's pants on fire.

"Yee-owwww!"

"Hmmm...Roasted nazi, medium well," Torch laughed as he watched Toro.

"Good, three down, seven to go," Cap said as he tried to hit another nazi. Again, only a couple of steps back.

"When did you say their powers would wear off?" Bucky asked Cap.

"Uh ... In due time, why?" Cap tried not to sound worried.

Subby was trying not to laugh as Toro chased 7 feeding the flame on his pants. Torch had neglected to watch the flame wall and the nazi's escaped. Namor flew in front of them and stood there with his arms crossed. One of the Super-Men kept running and met Namor's fist as he got to close. The others ran after Cap.

"Uh oh, incoming!" Cap told Torch. "Well, do something!"

"Huh? Oh, okay. Heh, this is gonna hurt," Torch threw a fire ball that split into six different fire balls that landed on each of the nazis.

"Yeee-ooowwwccchhh!"

"Told ya!" Torch yelled at the Super-Men.

Then the team jumped back in the trench just as the fighting started up again. There was a cheer from British soldiers and a congratulation from Sarge as they landed on the muddy floor.

By the time they got back to the base, Toro was asleep and Bucky kept complaining about how tired he was.

"Yawn, I'm gonna sleep like a log tonight," Torch said.

"Torch,"

"Yeah, Subby?"

"Logs don't sleep"

"Oh"

Every one had a good laugh then went home.
