Christopher Cline began his professional career in the
entertainment industry in 1970 and opened chc associates casting and services: South Carolina’s
first and only casting and production support service of its kind for film, television, and legitimate stage on the East Coast
soon thereafter.
In 1997 he opened the 2nd nationally certified specialized services salon for cancer clients
with special needs in South Carolina, christopher’s on brentwood and has plans to open a partner
salon, oliveclary’s in the near future.
Mr. Cline has provided
professional services for regional and professional theatres (75+ productions), film, television, and commercials as a producer/director/
actor/designer and writer/educator for the past 30 years.
As a professional Specialized
Make-up Artist and Nationally Certified Stylist-Educator, Mr. Cline began his creative work designing for the stage moving
into minimalist application concepts along with his study and research for development technology in 1976, which led to a
cross over into the television and film venue. He now works with all three venues on a regular basis and is in the process
of creating his own line of cosmetics for the industry as well as the commercial market while providing specialized services
for cancer clients.
Mr. Cline’s accomplishments
include a 6-year contract with SCETV/PBS series for the Early Childhood Professional Development Network among many other
regional and national programs and film projects. During the early 1980’s, Mr. Cline was the Lead Designer and Stylist
for over 20 in house projects including the SC State Historical Film, COLUMBIA: Memories of a City and International TV. His
experience and adventures in the industry have given him the opportunity to work with industry Legends and Academy Award-winning
talent as well as National broadcasters and Political leaders. He currently produces, directs, designs, and is scriptwriter
for the annual Cherokee Historical and Preservation Society and Cherokee County Museum GHOSTWALK. He was recently elected
to the CHAPS BOARD.
Mr. Cline also is an accredited
judge for the Miss America Pageant system and is the custodian of the Clary Cline Transou LEARN Scholarship. Regionally in
SC, Mr. Cline has been very active in the Cosmetology Industry having worked for the South Carolina State Board of Cosmetology
as an Examiner and served as The Examiner Liaison for the Department of Labor, Licensing, and Regulation. As an Advanced Educator,
he has been teaching State required Continuing Education classes (over 8000 participants) across the Southeast to members
of the SC All Industry Council for the past 10 years and for the Association of Cosmetology Salon Professionals. As a
SC licensed
Cosmetology Instructor, he is currently teaching as a Guest Artist across the country, on private contract for The Royal Academy
(of Cosmetology), LeGrand Institute of Camden, Palmetto Professionals of SC in Myrtle Beach, and the Association of Cosmetology
Teachers in Vocational Training of SC.
As a 10+ year (now)
Association of Cosmetology Salon Professionals Member (formerly National Cosmetology Association of SC),
Mr. Cline has served as Chairman on many of the association committees and as a Competition Adjudicator, a Nationally Certified
Practitioner/Educator and is the current Chairman of the Fashion and Education and Apprentice Committees. He is an active
Legislative Industry Advocate, and currently serves on the ACSP Executive Board.
Mr. Cline has written Artist
in Residence Programs and taught Fine Arts and Theatre for middle and high school Gifted and Talented across the Southeast,
served as an Adjudicator for the South Carolina Theatre Festival and is an audition trainer for students going through the
Southeastern Theatre Conference and College/Community Theatre Festival. He has also served as a Kindergarten Aide and Secondary
Substitute Educator and will be working on the process of acquiring his South Carolina Trade and Industry Teachers’
Certification.
Mr. Cline is an internationally
published author and was most recently recognized as one of the top twenty (out of 2500) professional writers by the International
Society of Poets… nominated for the International Poet of the Year 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007 Award
for his poem Simply, Life’s Gifts…my blessings.
Author Carmen Leal Pock
recently featured his autobiographical article, The Search for Signs of My Life, in her newly published THE FACES OF HUNTINGTON’S
and he continues to write for the stage/screen. He has reviewed regional and semi-professional theatre, created and edited
two award winning professional association magazines and educational technicals, community theatre newsletters and marketing/public
relations-promotion material, and writes critical analyses submissions for journals and other publications.
His most recent stage play
THE CUTTING EDGE is now in rewrite as a stageplay with screenplay treatments beginning in the late fall of 2007...and development
negotiations for production in SC, NC,TN, and MS. His last screenplay, THE SLEEVELESS HEART, the third installment in a trilogy
is in development for production.
