Vandergrift is a professor at the Rutgers University Library School. Her most recent book is Ways of Knowing: Literature and the Intellectual Life of Children, Scarecrow Press, 1996.

  Explores and promotes reading materials of literary merit for young people that have been created throughout the world; cooperates with organizations whose objectives are similar to USBBY; facilitates the exchange of information about books of international interest for children and young people.

  A non-profit trade association of children's book publishers and producers of related literacy materials for children. Of special interest are its Members List (see below), the Children's Book Week section, the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) list, and the Bibliographies.
