Overlays for APBA Backgammon, Major League Baseball, NBA Basketball, and NFL Football originally contained the logo of the organization at the top. These logos were removed from the overlays in subsequent releases, probably to save on licensing fees. The revised overlays have an "(A)" appended to the part number at the bottom.
I believe these were the only four overlays which contained logos later removed (please correct me if I'm wrong!). All of the other overlays which I've seen that contained an "(A)" part number were revised due to errors in the original overlays or changes in gameplay.
