About Breast Cancer Watch
Research Resources

Mission
Breast Cancer Watch
, was developed and compiled by Constantine Kaniklidis*, a medical researcher, and editor of EBM (evidence-based medicine) for Open Project Directory (DMOZ), as a service both to the lay health and to the professional medicine communities.

The essential mission of Breast Cancer Watch is provide the latest best practice evidence-based resources in current medicine and CAM (complimentary and alternative medicine) therapies across a broad range of conditions; new conditions and topics are added regularly, and all resources and links are updated aggressively on at least a weekly, often daily basis.

Our standards allow only science-based research and findings on medical conditions and their treatment, both within traditional medicine and that of evidence-based CAM. Wherever possible we present the latest EBM (evidence-based medicine) results of RCTs (randomized controlled trials) and critical meta-analyses from the peer-reviewed literature, along with best practice resources to guide medical practitioners and clinicians.

* Constantine Kaniklidis is a medical researcher specializing in breast cancer, and the author of the EBM (evidence-based medicine) site Breast Cancer Watch site, which publishes evidence-based systematic reviews and critical appraisals of the latest breast cancer treatment research findings for use by patients, co-researchers and clinical oncologists at many leading cancer centers.

He is also a member of many breast cancer and guidelines organizations, including EACR (European Association for Cancer Research), NBCC (National Breast Cancer Coalition), NZGG (New Zealand Guidelines Group), and a contributor to many breast cancer forums.

Constantine is presently engaged in extensive EBM (evidence-based medicine) research, with special interest in breast cancer, menopausal disorders, osteoporosis, depression and Alzheimer's disease, and is currently writing a book on evidence-based breast cancer treatment and prevention. His medical research is widely used and cited by consumers and healthcare professionals alike, and Evidencewatch and
Breast Cancer Watch are cited by organizations such as OBGYN.net, the Feminist Majority Foundation, Ms. Magazine Online, among many others, and Breast Cancer Watch is a Breast Cancer Awareness Ring site.

Finally, he is the Evidence-based Medicine (EBM) Editor for the Open Project Directory/DMOZ (the largest and most comprehensive human-edited directory of the Web, the underlying directory data feeding Google, Yahoo, and other major search engines, at http://dmoz.org).
