Resume Tips
How the resume appears can be as important as the information provided. A well written resume without errors can make a difference. Some companies pass resumes through a scanner to look for errors. Edit your resume carefully; look for errors in spelling or grammar.
- Use ink jet or laser printers only. If you use ink jet make sure the print does not smudge.
- Avoid being too creative by attaching clip art to your resume.
- Print the resume and cover letter on a high quality 25% cotton fiber resume paper.
- If you mail the resume use an envelope that matches the paper you use. Also type or use typed labels for the address and return address.
- All information supports the objective.
- Avoid any that that disqualifies you for the job.
- Be concise, clear, and uncluttered.
- Keep it simple1 to 2 pages; more only if research dictates.

- Show PERFORMANCE vs. Duties.
