To be awarded this rank a junior student must:

1.     Show good moral character.

2.     Be eleven years old with one year as blue belt.

3.     Know the Japanese words for everything below.

4.     Demonstrate the following basics.

a.      Back, side, front and rolling falls.

b.     Seven grips and grip breaking.

c.     Right and left natural and defensive postures.

d.     How to move and pivot correctly.

e.      Eight ways to break balance.

5.     Demonstrate the following Nage waza,


a.      O Soto Gari

b.     Ko Soto Gari

c.     O Uchi Gari

d.     Ko Uchi Gari

e.      O Goshi

f.       Morote Seoinage

g.     Ippon Seoinage

h.     De Ashi Barai (Harai)

i.        Hiza Guruma

j.        Sasae Tsurikomi Ashi

k.     Koshi guruma

l.        Tomoenage

m.   Tsuri Komi Goshi

n.     Uki Goshi

o.     Harai Goshi

p.     Hane Goshi

q.     Tai Otoshi
