CONNECTICUT JUDO INC. JUNIOR ORANGE BELT TEST

 

To be awarded this rank a junior student must:

  1. Be seven years old with 16 weeks as a yellow belt.
  2. Show good moral character.
  3. Know the requirements for rokyu yellow belt.
  4. Know the following definitions:

a.      Zempo Kaiten (Zem po kay ten) Front rolling falls.

b.     Migi Shizentai (Me gi she zen tie) Right natural posture.

c.     Hidari Shizentai (He dar E she zen tie) Left natural posture.

d.     Migi Gigotai (Me gi gee go tai) Right defensive posture.

e.      Hidari Jigotai (He dar E gee go tai) Left defensive posture.

f.       Yonen (Yo nen) The ages 12 and under.

g.     Shonen (Show nen) The ages 13 to 16.

h.     Toketa (Toe kay tah) Referee’s call that the hold down is broken.

i.        Sonomama (Sew no ma ma) The referee’s command for don’t move.

j.        Ippon (E pone) A win by 25 second hold or 20 point throw.

k.     Wazaari (Wah zar E) A 20-24 second hold or 10 point throw.

l.        Yuko (You koh) A 15 to 19 second hold or a 1 point throw.

  1. Demonstrate

a.      One throwing technique from yellow belt.

b.     Ukemi

c.     Ayumi ashi

d.     180 degree tai sabaki

e.      Migi and hidari shizentai

f.       Migi and hidari jigotai

g.     Morote seoinage (Two arm shoulder throw)

h.     De Ashi Harai (Advancing foot sweep throw)

i.        O Uchi Gari (Big inside reaping throw)

j.        One pin from the yellow belt test.

k.     Kami Shiho Gatame (Upper four corner hold)

l.        Ushiro Kesa Gatame (Backwards scarf hold)

m.   Leg entangle escape from Kesa Gatame.
