Social Problems/ Homelessness

This book addresses the origin's of New York City's public backlash against disorder in the form of public homelessness, prostitution, graffiti, and low level crime.

It is useful for classes dealing with ther casues of homelessness as well as liberal and neoconservaitve efforts to address the problem.

There is also an extensive discussion of the origins of the concept of "quality of life" as it pertains to social disorder and efforts to control it.
