A Talk with Fear
by Bonnie Arielle

One day while questioning my motives for not following through on something I felt was important in changing a direction in my life that I wanted to go in, but kept making excuses as to why I could not, I realized that deep down, it had to do with my fear. Therefore, I decided that I needed to discover for myself what fear was about and took up and pen, and this is the response I received.

First I wrote, "Fear - Who or what are you?"

Waiting a few minutes, I wrote what thoughts came into my mind. I was actually getting a response. I decided that I would simply write whatever response I received. This is the answer that came into my subconcious:

"Who do you think I am? I am in the deepest recesses of those who lose sight of trust. I am ready to jump out when one loses faith. I am waiting, but not anxious. I just am. Those who are in need, find me. I am that I am. Love is not my friend, for when you come to that special place, I am not there. Peace and joy are not my companions. I love to be in places where one loses sight of the bigger picture. I am that I am."

Next I asked, " Well then - what are you to me besides what you have to share of fear?"

The response that came was, "I am those doubts that come up when you least expect it. I am those times when you relax and leave present moment. I am there when things turn topsey turvey waiting for you to come unglued in any second. I am part of the whole. I am part of the one. You need not fear me nor need you be of concern. I just am, but you also need not console in me. Just be and let God take hold and all will be well."

Not knowing what else to think or say, I wrote, "Is there anything specific you want to tell me about?"

The response I received was, "Hmmmmmm.....Are you worried that you will not be able to stay in peace? Are you worried that you should be doing something else rather than resting? Are you worried about your weight, your expectations, your pictures of what things should be? These are fears. You think about them in those seconds and then justify quickly and go into trust. So you believe...that is okay, but perhaps it would be better to dwell on it a little more until you have the root of the fear come to rest completely. Yes, this is a very good thing to do..writing like this. Then you can put it to rest completely. You are devinely guided after all and thus you will have your answers. Yes, my child, all will come to those who ask and seek! God is the answer! The only answer which is unconditional and loving and light. The light will always guide and keep you in brilliance. The flame shines for all who seek. The answer is always ready and waiting to receive. Muchy love to you my child. Peace."

Writing and allowing the answers to flow, without judgement, has given me much peace indeed. It is very helpful in seeing more clearly the situation from a distance. Seeing a bigger picture, internalizing at a deeper level. It definitely helps set things in proper perspective.

I encourage everyone to take time when one is troubled to set and write and allow the words to flow in. The peace and feeling that follows is very freeing and eye opening.

Peace
