Transformations
by Darling Villena-Mata

Transformation is never easy.
It calls for change and the demise of old.
Echoes of the past and what once were can haunt us,
until the sounds and touches of the new become familiar and joyful to us.

So we grieve and we fear,
we shudder and our bodies moan,
as we experience the changes, the losses.

Tears will cleanse us
and our bodies will move us to take it slow and gently
unto the new dawn of the next chapter of our lives.
Breath will come in spurts and gasps, shallow and deep
as both our souls and bodies learn
the new rhythms needed for our next steps
in our journeys.

And once again that ³some day² will come again and we will realize with our hearts that love never really went, only deepened and transformed into newer vessels, newer experiences which will serve us better in loving ourselves deeper and loving others more wholly too.
